The 2019 Dodge Challenger is a track-ready, macho muscle car that turns heads on the road. It’s also incredibly exciting to drive, packing plenty of power beneath the hood. Here’s what all the available trims have to offer.

power and performance
The 2019 Dodge Challenger is a large and fierce-looking coupe whose power blows other cars in its class out of the water. It comes in five trims and seven configurations, with varying levels of power and performance.

You can opt to get this two-door, eight-speed automatic with either rear- or all-wheel drive. Both feature a 3.6-liter V-6 engine that produces 305 horsepower and gets 21-23 combined mpg.

This coupe is equipped with the same engine as the SXT but enhances the drivability with a performance hood, splitter, steering, and suspension.

The R/T gives drivers a power boost, with a six-speed manual and a 5.7-liter V-8 that produces 375 horsepower. The Scat Pack edition takes things a step further, with an upgraded 6.4-liter V-8 that gets 485 horsepower. It also adds four-piston Brembo performance brakes, line lock, and launch control, a system that gives drivers superior acceleration off the line. Both R/Ts are rear-wheel drive and average around 18 combined mpg.

It can go from zero to 60 in a mere 3.4 seconds and tops out at 199 mph. Six-piston Brembos, line lock, launch control, and an after-run chiller come standard.

safety and driver assistance features
Dodge makes sure safety is a top priority in the Challenger. The coupe’s body features special front and rear crumple zones, a strong steel frame, and air bags throughout. Standard safety features include active front head restraints, rain brake support, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Driver assistance features include available automatic high-beam headlamps, blind spot monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, available full-speed forward collision warning, Parkview rear backup camera, among others.

interior and exterior features
While the Challenger might look menacing with its retro race car exterior, inside it offers all the conveniences and luxuries drivers have to come to expect from modern cars. It boasts best-in-class passenger room for five. All trims come standard with a Uconnect infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen that’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible. The SRT gains an 8.4-inch screen.

Upgrade from the SXT to the GT for houndstooth cloth performance seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. The GT trim and higher also come with 20-inch granite crystal aluminum wheels, compared to the base trim’s 18-inch satin carbons.

The Hellcat features the most unique, racing-inspired interior, with optional black and red seats and seatbelts and the option to upgrade to Laguna leather or Nappa and Alcantara seats.

Regardless of which trim you choose, the 2019 Dodge Challenger delivers on unbelievable power and performance. And it doesn’t hurt that it looks amazing doing so. Test drive yours today.
